Just for Kids: Creativity in the Kitchen

Hey kids (and parents)! Did you know that cooking and baking together can help your brain feel calm and happy? Mixing, measuring, and making something delicious is not only fun—it’s also a great way to spend quality time with your family. Plus, learning new kitchen skills builds confidence and creativity!

Here are some tasty activities to try together:

For Ages 4–6:

  • Make fruit kabobs with grapes, strawberries, and banana slices.
  • Decorate cupcakes or cookies with sprinkles and fun shapes.
  • Stir pancake batter and help flip them with adult supervision.

For Ages 7–10:

  • Build your own mini pizzas with toppings like cheese, veggies, or turkey pepperoni.
  • Bake banana bread and mash the bananas by hand.
  • Create snack plates with colorful fruits, cheese, and crackers.

For Ages 11 and Older:

  • Follow a simple recipe from start to finish (like spaghetti or stir-fry).
  • Try a family cook-off—see who can make the best smoothie or sandwich.
  • Bake something from scratch, like muffins, brownies, or a homemade pie.

Cooking is more than just making food—it’s making memories. So roll up your sleeves, put on an apron, and have fun creating something delicious together! (Recipe attached to Newsletter)
