A Message For Military Families: Moving Can Be Hard On The Whole Family

Military families move a lot, and while new places can be exciting, moving can also be stressful for the whole family. Leaving friends, schools, routines, and familiar places may cause feelings of sadness, worry, loneliness, or frustration and that’s okay.

Everyone handles moving differently. Some family members may adjust quickly, while others need more time and support.

Ways Families Can Cope Together

Stay Connected Keep in touch with friends and family through calls, messages, or video chats.

Talk About Feelings Share emotions openly and listen to one another with patience and support.

Keep Routines Simple routines like family meals or bedtime habits can help everyone feel safe and comfortable.

Get Involved Joining school activities, sports, or community groups can help families make new friends and feel connected.

Be Patient Adjusting takes time. It’s important to support one another during big changes.

Remember: Military families are strong, resilient, and can get through challenges together no matter where they move.
